OUR STORY

Hello, my name is Chef Katie Murdock and I am the owner of Cozy Kitchen.  I have over 18 years of experience in food and beverage.  I am a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Scottsdale who started my career as a line cook and quickly worked my way up the ranks as sous chef, pastry chef, and Chef de Cuisine.  I was an Executive Chef in Aspen, Colorado where I worked until I accepted the offer to move to Charleston and open Tavern & Table on Shem Creek.  Tavern & Table was my home and family for four more years until I had my first daughter, and then I knew it was time for me to make a change.  I wanted to work in more intimate settings and decided becoming a private chef was the change I needed.  That passion was confirmed with my employment by Food Fire & Knives.  So now I would like to introduce my very own private chef business; Cozy Kitchen Chef Katie Murdock!


Some of my most memorable experiences are competing on Iron Chef America as Beau MacMillan’s sous chef, cooking at the James Beard House (twice), and cooking at the Aspen Food & Wine festival multiple times.  All of the hard work, mentors, and experiences have made me the chef I am today and I am forever grateful.
   
I provide private chef services that range from a backyard BBQ or bridal shower to a full five-course sit-down dinner, to a large wedding.  I would love to share my passion for making amazing food with customizable menus with you and your party, event, office, or family!
